Eikanger-Bjørsvik is a brass and percussion ensemble from Lindås municipality in Norway. The ensemble was formed in 1971 when two local community bands, from Eikanger and Bjørsvik, merged to create a British-style brass band. The older band, Eikanger’s, was established in 1949, followed by Bjørsvik’s in 1952. The newly formed ensemble quickly gained prominence, winning their first National Brass Band Championship in 1981 and eventually securing the title a total of twenty times through 2023. Eikanger-Bjørsvik made history as the first non-British band to win the European Championships for brass bands in 1988, a feat they repeated in 1989 and 2017. Over their career they have worked with notable conductors such as Helge Haukås, Peter Parkes, David King, Ingar Bergby, Elgar Howarth, Howard Snell, Bjarte Engeset, and Nicholas Childs.
