Frazier Chorus is an English pop band from Brighton, England. The group formed in 1987 with Tim Freeman on vocals and keyboards, Michéle Allardyce on percussion, Kate Holmes on flute, and Chris Taplin on clarinet and programming. Frazier Chorus first signed to British indie record label 4AD and released the single "Sloppy Heart" in 1987. They then moved to Virgin Records and achieved chart success with a string of melodic pop songs from their debut album Sue, released in 1989. The band's second album, Ray, followed in 1991, featuring singles remixed by notable producers such as Paul Oakenfold and Youth. Following the release of Ray, Virgin Records, which had been acquired by EMI, began purging artists, leading to Frazier Chorus being let go from the label. Subsequently, Holmes and Taplin fired Freeman before disbanding entirely in 1996. After the band's dissolution, Tim Freeman released a mini-album titled Wide Awake under the Frazier Chorus name in 1995, which did not chart in the UK. Kate Holmes later joined electronic bands Technique and Client.
