Born in Liverpool*, Billy Kramer scored a major hit with the Dakotas in 1963, with songs written by John Lennon* and Paul McCartney* ("Do You Want To Know A Secret", "I'll Keep You Satisfied"), before entering the American charts the following year with "Little Children" (co-written by Mort Shuman*). Kramer embarked on a difficult solo career in 1967.
