James Brown, known professionally as The King, was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1968. Initially working as a postman, James Brown's singing career began after performing at a local bar and catching the attention of Bap Kennedy. His debut album Gravelands (1997) featured covers such as “Come as You Are” by Nirvana and “Whole Lotta Rosie” by AC/DC, selling half a million copies. In 2000, James Brown released his second album Return to Splendor, which included the hit “Under The Bridge” originally by Red Hot Chili Peppers. His cover of “King of the Road” was featured in a 2001 Audi commercial and released as a single.
