Monte Patrick Montgomery, born on August 11, 1966 in Birmingham, Alabama, is an American guitarist and singer-songwriter. At age 13, he moved to San Antonio, Texas. Montgomery's career began with the release of his EP Monte Montgomery in 1990. He gained significant recognition after performing on an episode of the PBS series Austin City Limits in 1999. His breakthrough album, Mirror, was released that same year. Throughout his career, Montgomery has released several notable albums including Wishing Well (2001) and Architect (2004). He won the "Best Acoustic Guitar Player" Award at the Austin Chronicle's Austin Music Awards seven consecutive years.
