Monika Rost (born February 21, 1943, in Dresden) is a German classical guitarist, lutenist, and musicologist. She attended the Musikgymnasium Schloss Belvedere and studied at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar under Ursula Peter, Johann Cilenšek, and Werner Hübschmann. Rost served as a professor of guitar at the Weimar institution for more than 20 years and led the Institute of Guitar for nearly a decade. Her notable students include Nora Buschmann, Samuel Klemke, Tomasz Zawierucha, and Boyan Karanjuloff. Rost performed internationally as a soloist and in a duo with Jürgen Rost. In 1972, she won first prize at the Concours International de la Guitare in Paris with special jury honors. Rost also received a gold medal at the 1973 Instrumentalwettbewerb in East Berlin. Her discography includes the album Musik für Gitarre. In 1992, she co-founded the Gitarreverein Weimar.
