Elena Kuschnerova, born on January 6, 1959, in Moscow, is a Russian-born classical pianist. She began her piano education at five and made her orchestral debut at nine playing Bach's Keyboard Concerto No. 5 in F minor. After graduating from the Moscow Conservatory in 1982, she toured within the Soviet Union. In 1992, she emigrated to Germany and began an international career, performing in Western Europe, the USA, and Japan. She has taught master classes globally and, since 2006, has been a guest professor at the Elisabeth University of Music in Hiroshima. Several composers have dedicated works to Kuschnerova, including Alexander Lokshin's "Prelude and Theme with Variations" (1982) and Mikhail Kollontay's Piano Concerto No. 45 (2011). Her recordings include works by Tchaikovsky, Schumann, Chopin, and Scriabin. She has been a Steinway Artist since 2001.
