Garness is a Norwegian duo formed in 2008 by twin sisters Ingelin Reigstad Norheim (vocals, acoustic and electric guitars) and Hildegunn Garnes Reigstad (vocals, percussion, autoharp, Omnichord). Both songwriters, composers and producers, they have been ploughing a furrow between folk, pop, rock and traditional music on bilingual Norwegian or English lyrics since the very beginning. Born into a family of musicians from the island of Holsnøy in Nordhordland, they toured with their parents and recorded their first album of traditional songs, Slipper Lovsangen Fri, in 1993. Their professional career began with the album The Good or Better Side of Things (2008), followed by Barnet i Krybben (2009), reissued in 2013. Several years separate this album from the next, Canyons and Mountaintops, released in 2017, followed by En Krybbe var vuggen (2018), Gåten om korset (2020) and Restart (2025).
