British record producer Amrinder Singh Sandhu, born on 26 September 1989, grew up in Southall, London, England, moving to Newcastle Upon Tyne at a young age. He discovered his passion for music at 13, mixing Punjabi music with genres like hip hop, R&B, garage, and drum and bass. He released underground mixtapes as DJ Manni and, at 15, began producing music from his bedroom with basic equipment. In December 2008, he signed with Brown Boi Music, marking the beginning of his journey to his debut album, eventually titled My Time. The album dropped on February 23, 2012, and featured artists like Manak-E, Lehmber Hussainpuri, Kaka Bhaniawala, Bakshi Billa, Jelly Manjitpuri, Jaswinder Daghamia, Ashok Gill, and Nirmal Sidhu. The first single, "Door Ni Kulne," featuring Manak-E, released in October 2010, gained global success with over a million online hits. In January 2013, Manni Sandhu released the mixtape Reload under Collab Creations Ltd., reviving the UK garage sound from the early 2000s, preparing for the launch of his second album, Against All Odds, which was released in 2015, with Welcome to the Future appearing the following year. He received recognition at the Brit Asia TV Music Awards (BAMA) in 2017, winning the Best Single award for "Gani" and the Best Music Producer award at BAMA 2019. Between 2018 and 2021, Manni Sandhu released several non-album singles that performed well on both the UK Asian and Punjabi charts, including "In Demand" (with Navaan Sandhu) in 2018, "Do Pal" (with Navaan Sandhu) in 2019, and "Majhail" (with AP Dhillon & Gurinder Gill) in 2020, which reached Number 1. In 2022, he collaborated with Tegi Panuu on his EP Disturbing the Peace, releasing several more singles in 2023, including “Small Circle” and “No Safety”. In September, Manni Sandhu’s 2021 hit “Schedule” returned to the Indian charts, reaching number 11. Later, he collaborated with Chinna, Param and Canadian rapper Sukha on the 2026 EP Rumour Has It.
