Margaret Ruth Fingerhut, also known as Margaret Fingerhut, was born on March 30, 1955. She is a British classical pianist who studied at the Royal College of Music and made her debut at Wigmore Hall in 1981 after being selected as Young Musician of the Year by the Greater London Arts Association. Fingerhut has performed with notable orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra and BBC Philharmonic, and collaborated with conductors including Leonard Slatkin and Sir Edward Downes. Her discography includes works by composers like Bloch, Leighton, and Tansman on the Chandos label, with notable recordings such as "Canon in E minor" by Rachmaninoff. She was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2024 for her services to music and charitable fundraising.
