Richard Gilly, born 1948, is a French chansonnier known for his work as an author, composer, and interpreter from Sannois, Val-d'Oise, France. At the age of 15, Gilly enrolled at an arts school where he explored painting and sculpture, exhibiting his sculptures at notable venues such as the gallery Suzanne de Coninck and the Musée d'Arts Modernes in Paris. Gilly's music career began in 1971 with the release of his debut album Je ne suis pas un grand fermier. Over the next four decades, Gilly released albums including Les Froides Saisons (1975) and Rêves D'éléphant (1993). His later works include Des années d'ordinaire (2002).
