Fredrik Kronkvist, born on July 25, 1975, in Trelleborg, Sweden, is a saxophonist and composer known for his contributions to jazz. He began performing with Cuban musicians in Sweden from 1997 and toured with Calixto Oviedo in 1999. Kronkvist completed his studies at the Malmö College of Music in 2000, earning a Master's degree. The following year, he joined Anders Bergcrantz’s Quintett, performing at JazzFest Berlin. His debut album Altitude was released in 2003 with Daniel Tilling, Martin Sjöstedt & Daniel Fredriksson. Kronkvist has collaborated extensively, appearing on albums by Joe Spinaci and the Brookolino Orchestra, The Stockholm Jazz Orchestra, and others. He won the Jazzkatten award for Newcomer of the Year in 2002. His notable releases include Kronicles (2018) and Ballads (2022).
