Jesse Houk (born 3 October 1971 in Amsterdam, Netherlands) is a Dutch‑American producer and DJ who performs under the alias The Scumfrog. After completing his studies, Houk moved to New York City in 1997, where he began DJing deep house and tech house in the East Village and released his first single "We Love You" in 2001, which reached Number 1 on several European dance charts. In 2002 he issued the duet with David Bowie "Loving The Alien", followed by Simmer (2004), the latter featuring the single "Music Revolution" that appeared in a Chevrolet HHR commercial. Houk signed with EMI/Positiva and released Mega Scum! 01 (2006) and the single "Send Wave" (2015). Throughout the 2000s he collaborated with artists such as Cyndi Lauper, and Sting, and produced remixes for Kylie Minogue, Missy Elliott, and New Order. He hosted the radio show Glam Scum International from 2008 to 2014 and launched the club night series M.B.T.S. in 2015. His work earned him the International Dance Music Award for Best Remixer in 2004. Throughout the years, Houk continued to record and perform, maintaining a presence in clubs and dance music.
