Twin Tones, a Mexican country and western band from Mexico City, formed in late 2002, consisting of López on lead guitar, Martínez on bass, Casasola on drums, Huerta on samplers and organ, and Gutiérrez on rhythm guitar. Their debut album, Nación Apache (2005), was recorded for fun and given to friends but was so successful that it led to the band's live debut at Multiforo Alicia in 2003. In 2008, Gutiérrez left the band, and Cardeño joined as his replacement. Their sexond album, Capello di Mariachi, released in the same year, was nominated for Indie Music Awards and won Best Surf Album of 2009. The band added trumpets and flautist Lucio De los Santos to their lineup for the release of Trío de Mercenarios in 2011.
