Giovanni Cassano, known professionally as Joe Cassano, was born on November 25, 1973, in Bologna, Italy. He began his career as a rapper in the late 1980s after moving to Brooklyn, New York and discovering rap music at age 15. Upon returning to Italy, he started participating in underground hip-hop events.
In 1997, Cassano collaborated with Inoki and joined the Porzione Massiccia Crew. He released notable tracks like "Giorno e notte" on the compilation Novecinquanta in 1999. His final album, Dio Lodato, was posthumously released at the end of 1999. It included the single "Dio lodato per sta chance". Joe Cassano died on April 4, 1999, from a heart attack likely caused by cocaine abuse.
