Breather Resist was an American hardcore punk and mathcore band from Louisville, Kentucky. Formed in 2001, the group initially recorded eight songs, four of which were featured on handmade demos. These tracks became part of their early EP, Only In The Morning, released by Deathwish Inc. in 2003. Their first full-length album, Charmer, was produced by Kurt Ballou and released by Jade Tree Records in October 2004. Notable releases include the split albums Breather Resist / Suicide Note (2004) and the compilation Split Session (2004). In December 2005, lead vocalist Steve Sidoni left the band, and guitarist Evan Patterson and bassist Nick Thieneman took over vocal duties. They entered the studio in 2006, but changed their name to Young Widows after finding their sound had significantly changed.
