Having started out with rock band Automatic Loveletter, Juliet Simms toured for almost a decade before disbanding the group in 2011. A multi-talented singer-songwriter, keyboard player and guitarist, Simms' subsequent musical career perhaps epitomises the angst-ridden stereotype of an 'emo' artist. Following the demise of Automatic Loveletter, Simms appeared on US musical reality show The Voice and her well-received performance was good enough to earn the position of runner-up. Three of the songs performed by Simms were released by the show's production company, the most successful being a rendition of the James Brown classic It's A Man's Man's Man's World which reached number 70 on the Billboard Chart. Her mentor on The Voice, hip-hop artist and producer Cee Lo Green, went on to sign Simms to his own label and the single Wild Child was released in 2012 but failed to chart. An album scheduled for release in 2013 never made it to press after Simms left the label citing artistic restrictions as the reason for parting ways. Following the split with Cee Lo Green, Simms toured in 2013 with Secondhand Serenade and Veronica Ballestrini before releasing a pledge-funded EP titled All Or Nothing featuring Black Veil Brides frontman and husband Andy Biersack on the track Not Broken Yet. In 2016 the artist released an eight-track,self-funded EP titled From The Grave.
