Dim Stars was an American alternative rock supergroup active briefly in the early 1990s. The group consisted of bassist Richard Hell, guitarist Thurston Moore and drummer Steve Shelley from Sonic Youth, and guitarist Don Fleming from Gumball. Their initial release was a limited-edition set of three 7" EPs, which was later compiled into one CD titled Dim Stars EP in 1992. This was followed by their full-length album Dim Stars, released the same year on Caroline Records. The LP showcased Hell's songwriting abilities and included tracks like "She Wants to Die," All My Witches Come True," and "Rip Off." Dim Stars did not tour together and essentially disbanded after the release of the LP.
