François Théberge, born May 18, 1963 in Montreal, is a Canadian jazz saxophonist. He studied at McGill University and Concordia University before moving to New York for further education at the Eastman School of Music. In 1990, Théberge joined the Orchestre Régional Rhône-Alpes and relocated to France. He later settled in Paris, where he formed the band The Fensters. Théberge's teaching career began at the Paris Conservatory, eventually leading the Jazz Department starting in 2000. His debut album Asteur (1997) received multiple nominations, including for a Django d’Or in 1998. He collaborated with notable artists such as Lee Konitz, and his albums include Elenar (2003) and Soliloque (2008).
