Anthelion, a Taiwanese symphonic black metal band, was formed in Keelung, Taiwan in 2001 by members Code, Zeist, Troy and Jin. Three months later, they released their first demo and went on to perform at major festivals, including the Formoz Festival and the Metal Immortal concert in 2002. In 2004, they released their first independent EP Bloodstained Anthelion and toured extensively across Taiwan. Despite disbanding briefly in 2007 due to internal conflicts, the band reunited later that year and recorded their debut album Bloodshed Rebefallen, which was released on July 21, 2007. The album featured popular tracks like "Snake Corpse", "血 嫁 (Bloody Matrimony)" and "破魂录 (The Tome of Broken Souls)". Anthelion continued to tour Asia extensively from 2007 to 2008, performing at festivals in Thailand, Singapore, and Japan. In 2010, they released the EP Manjusaka, which showcased a more melancholic sound compared to their earlier work.
