Johann Baptist Cramer, born Johann-Baptist Cramey on February 24, 1771 in Mannheim, Germany, was a British composer and pianist of German origin. Raised in London, he studied piano with Muzio Clementi from 1782 to 1784. From 1788 to 1791, Cramer established himself as a skilled pianist through tours across England and Europe. He performed at notable concerts, such as the Salomon concerts. He composed a large volume of works, including over 100 piano sonatas, and taught future composers like George Onslow. He founded the music publishing house Cramer & Co. in 1824. His notable works include "Les petits riens" (Divertimento) and "La parodie" (Sonata for Piano). Cramer passed away on April 16, 1858 in London.
