Faakhir Mehmood is a Pakistani singer, keyboardist, composer, and music producer. He began his career with the band Awaz, which he co-founded during his university years at the University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila, alongside Haroon and guitarist Asad Ahmed. After the band disbanded in 2000, Faakhir pursued a solo career, releasing his debut album Aatish in 2002, followed by Sub Tun Sohniyeh (2003), Mantra (2005), and Jee Chaahey (2011). His music videos, including "Dilruba," have been noted for high production value, and he has performed internationally across the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. In 2016, he served as one of the music directors for season 9 of Coke Studio Pakistan, producing the new version of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s "Afreen Afreen" and performing the Pashto folk song "Dilruba Na Raazi" with Zeb Bangash. Faakhir has also composed for Pakistani films and established the recording studio TwentyFourSeven in Karachi.
