Mista was an American R&B group from Atlanta, Georgia, active in the mid-1990s. The group was produced by Organized Noize and debuted with their self-titled album Mista on July 30, 1996. Mista featured the hit single "Blackberry Molasses", which peaked at Number 53 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and Number 13 on the U.S. R&B chart. The group's sound blended contemporary R&B and soul music, heavily influenced by their hometown's rich musical heritage. Although Mista received positive reviews from critics who praised its smooth melodies and rich harmonies, it did not achieve the same level of commercial success as anticipated. This led to the production of a second album with Tim & Bob, but it never saw release due to internal management issues that escalated between the group members and their label. As a result, Mista disbanded in 1997.
