Pierluigi Balducci, born on October 3, 1971, in Bari, Italy, is an Italian jazz musician known for his skills as a bass player. He initially learned classical guitar before transitioning to the bass guitar. In the 1990s, Balducci gained recognition with the world music band Tavernanova, with whom he recorded two albums. Following this, he led his own groups and collaborated with notable artists such as Roberto Ottaviano, Luciano Biondini, Ernst Reijseger, Gabriele Mirabassi, Michele Rabbia, Paul McCandless, and John Taylor. In 1999, Balducci joined the Nuevo Tango Ensamble, contributing to several albums with the group. He also composed the music for the film A ma sœur (2001) directed by Catherine Breillat. Throughout his career, Balducci released multiple albums including Il peso delle nuvole (2003), Cherry Dance (2010), and Blue from Heaven (2012).
