The rock singer Graham Bonnet comes from the seaside town of Skegness on the east coast of England. He began his musical career performing with Trevor Gordon in the rock duo The Marbles and had a hit single in 1968 with the track 'Only One Woman', a Gibb brothers composition which went to number five in the UK pop charts. Bonnet then took a break from his career as a rock singer and concentrated on performing vocals on TV jingles, a lucrative source of income at the time. He came back into the rock business with a self-titled album which went gold in Australia.
With his name once again in the spotlight Bonnet was approached firstly by the glam rock band Sweet to become their new front man and then he got an invitation from Ritchie Blackmore to replace Rainbow's Ronnie James Dio. Bonnet accepted Blackmore's offer and sang on two of the band's best known singles 'Since You've Been Gone' and 'All Night Long', both tracks being lifted from Rainbow's fourth album 'Down to Earth'. Bonnet's tenure with Rainbow was short lived and he left after recording 'Down to Earth' to resume his solo career. Bonnet has explored various avenues within the world of rock including a brief spell with The Michael Schenker Group which lasted for just one live appearance after Bonnet exposed himself on stage under the influence of drink and Schenker fired him. He rejoined the band in 2016 and toured with them in Japan and Europe and continues to be in the touring line up of the band.
