Cephalgy is a German futurepop and dark electro band from Dresden formed in 1997. Their early career involved organizing their own concerts and recording promotional material. A pivotal moment occurred when they met Ivo Lottig and Kay Resch of Accessory at the Club Achtermai in Chemnitz, leading to a contract with Out of Line Records. They released the debut demo CD Warum (2001), followed by the demo CD Cephalgy (2002). Their first full-length album, Engel sterben nie (2004), saw significant lineup changes during its era, including the departure of Rico Schmidt and the addition of Stella. Cephalgy gained notable recognition by opening for BlutEngel on their Daemon Kiss tour in 2004. Other album releases include Finde deinen Dämon (2005), Herzschlag (2008), Leid statt Liebe (2011), and Gott Maschine Vaterland (2017).
