Basque Dub Foundation, a reggae project based in London, was founded in the early 1990s by Iñaki Yarritu. The group's first performances were as a sound system in the 1990s, pioneering the creation of Dubplates and exclusive productions. Their debut album, Sustraidun Roots Dub, released in 1997 on Massive Sounds records, received critical acclaim and notable sales internationally, becoming a cult classic in the dub scene. Collaborations included artists such as Mad Professor and Dub Judah. In 2002, BDF released their second album, BDF Meets Loud & Lone, featuring collaborations with Roberto Sánchez and Borja Juanco. The band has performed at major European festivals like Glastonbury and Rototom, sharing the stage with icons such as Burning Spear and Luciano.
