Chelsy, a Japanese pop‑rock trio formed in 2011, emerged from the vibrant Tokyo music scene as a collective of three female vocalists and instrumentalists who shared a passion for energetic, guitar‑driven melodies. Their breakthrough arrived with the 2014 single "I Will" and the accompanying EP I Will / Animation, which gained attention as the insert track for the anime Ao Haru Ride and marked the group’s first major media exposure. In the same year, Chelsy released the EP YES / Good‑bye girl on 3 December, followed by Sistar on 27 May 2015 and the special edition I Miss You on 2 September 2015, each release showcasing a maturation of their pop‑rock sound and expanding their fanbase across Japan. The band’s sole single, "It's fine days", debuted on 7 December 2016, solidifying their presence in the contemporary J‑pop market. Chelsy signed with SMAR, a subsidiary known for nurturing emerging talent, and embarked on a series of promotional tours that highlighted their live performance energy. Despite critical acclaim and a growing following, the group announced its disbandment in May 2018, concluding a seven‑year career that left a lasting imprint on the Japanese pop‑rock genre.
