Dubblestandart, an Austrian dub reggae band from Vienna, was founded in 1987 by Paul Zasky, Robbie Ost, Johnny Heilig, and Operator Marek. The group achieved breakthrough recognition in 1992 after winning a DJ competition on the radio show Die Musicbox. Their early releases include albums such as Feel The Balance (1992). Notable collaborations include working with Lee “Scratch” Perry and Ari Up from the Slits on Return From Planet Dub (2009), which also featured film director David Lynch and included a dub reggae adaptation of Jean Michel Jarre’s “Oxygen Part 4.” The band has toured extensively, performing across Europe, Canada, Russia, India, and Switzerland, both as a headlining act and as a backing band.
