Bluekilla, a German ska band from Munich, was formed in 1985. The group initially gained traction with their early releases, including the album The New Ska Age, in 1994. Bluekilla's breakthrough moment came during their 1997 tour of Ex-Jugoslawien, where they faced significant challenges but ultimately sparked a ska boom in Serbia. The band's lineup stabilized with Amedeo Tortora as the new singer and frontman, leading to the release of Ska-a-Go-Go in 1996 and Ska is Our Business in 1999. Bluekilla produced their albums independently until signing with Pork Pie Records. Their studio album, Never Was a Ska Band, was released in 2011 and received positive critical acclaim.
