Distemper, a Russian ska-punk band from Moscow, was formed on September 4, 1989 by Roman “Nosatyy” Shevchuk, Sergey “Bai” Baybakov, and Pavel “Kisel” Kalinin. Initially blending thrash metal and punk, Distemper released their debut album Мы сегодня с Баем two years later, which had limited success. In 1992, Dazent joined as lead vocalist and primary lyricist, expanding the band's reach beyond Moscow. By 1995, Distemper transitioned to ska-punk, adding saxophonist Iljitsch. This period saw successful albums like Face Control (1997). The band completed its instrumentation with trombone and trumpet in 1998. Distemper's first international tour took place in 2002, leading to annual summer performances in Europe. Notable collaborations include albums with US band The Know How (Ska Punk Party, 2003) and Russian punk-rock group Tarakany (Kogda rebjata objediniajutsia, 2006). Distemper's live performances are known for their energetic stage presence, including the iconic "verrückte Hund" mascot. The band has released numerous albums, showcasing their enduring influence in the ska-punk genre.
