Jacob Dove Basker, known professionally as Jake the Rapper, was born in 1970 in the Bronx, New York, and is a rapper, disc jockey, actor, and producer. He spent his childhood in various cities, including Moscow, Idaho, and Chicago, Illinois. After studying at the Hochschule für bildende Künste in Hamburg, he worked as a comic book artist and tattooist before transitioning into music. Jake the Rapper's career began in the early 2000s when he became a resident DJ at Berlin's Bar 25. In 2005, he released his debut album, Jake the Rapper. He later collaborated with Traffic Signs on the single "Cookie's Jar" in 2015 and organized events such as "Dance with Me - Jack the Rapper Bronx Edition" in 2018. Jake the Rapper also ventured into acting, appearing in films like Love Forever (2008) and Revision – Apocalypse II (2009).
