Dance 2 Trance is a German electronic music project formed in 1990, consisting of music producer Rolf Ellmer, known as Jam El Mar, and DJ Dag Lerner. The duo began their collaboration by releasing the self-titled single "Dance 2 Trance" which marked their debut. Their breakthrough came with the release of "Power of American Natives", a trance anthem sung by Linda Rocco. This track reached number 10 in Germany and Austria, selling over 250,000 units. The success of "Power of American Natives" established Dance 2 Trance as prominent figures in the Eurodance and trance scenes. Dance 2 Trance's work included collaborations with Stephan Weidner of Böhse Onkelz, notably on the instrumental piece "Remember Exxon Valdez" featured on Moon Spirits (1993). Following this success, Dance 2 Trance released several other notable singles including "Take a Free Fall" (1993) and "Warrior" (1994). In 1998, they re-released "Power of American Natives", which again charted in Germany and Austria. The group also contributed remixes for Snap!, including the popular tracks "Rhythm Is a Dancer" and "Do You See the Light (Looking For)". Dance 2 Trance's influence extended beyond their own releases, as they were also active as remix producers under the project name Peyote. Their contributions to the electronic music genre solidified their place in the history of Eurodance and trance music.
