Raising hell on the New Jersey hardcore punk scene in the mid-1990s, Fury of Five were an aggressive, blue collar force of nature notorious for their chaotic live shows and unrelenting, combative attitude. Full of visceral energy, they formed when bass player Mike Terror met guitarist Jay Fury at an AA meeting, and recruited former Position of Power vocalist James 'Stikman' Ismean to lead the group.
Though they were sneered at by some rivals from nearby New York, they became underground heroes with albums 'The High Cost of Dying' and 'At War With the World', and bridged the gap between hardcore crowds and metal fans. Songs like 'Takin' Respect', 'Do Or Die' and 'Come and Get It' became raging, defiant anthems across the North East of America and Europe before they split in 2000 following the release of third album 'This Time It's Personal'.
Ismean returned with a new line-up in 2010 and released single 'Real Is Back' a few years later, with the band being recognised as forefathers of nu-metal and remembered as important figureheads of New Jersey's hardcore scene during a time that it was at its most electric and volatile.
