Frances Faye, born Frances Cohen on November 4, 1912 in Brooklyn, New York City, was an American singer and pianist. She began her career at age 15 performing in nightclubs and made her solo recording debut in 1936 with the single "No Regrets" / "You're Not the Kind of a Boy". Faye's act was known for its double entendres and references to homosexuality and lesbianism, reflecting her own bisexuality. She recorded several albums for various labels, including Capitol Records and Imperial Records, with notable releases including No Reservations (1953) and I'm Wild Again (1955). Frances Faye appeared in the 1937 film Double or Nothing, singing "After You" with Bing Crosby. She continued to tour into the early 1980s despite health issues and her final film role was as an elderly cocaine-sniffing madam in Louis Malle's Pretty Baby (1978). Faye passed away on November 8, 1991 at age 79.
