Sebastian Hämer was born in Rostock on March 17, 1979. He is a German singer and songwriter in the pop, soul and R&B genres and has been one of the defining voices of German-language pop since the mid-2000s. His musical career began with the party band Turn up. He gained his first major attention in 2003 through his participation in the ZDF singing competition Die deutsche Stimme. In 2006, he signed with 3p Records and released the single "Sommer unseres Lebens", which immediately entered the German singles charts. In August of the same year, the debut album Der fliegende Mann is released. Over the years, Sebastian Hämer develops into an integral part of the German music scene with a mix of soulful ballads, soul-inspired pop and radio-friendly songs. In 2010, he took part in the Bundesvision Song Contest with the song "Is' schon ok" and reached 10th place. 2012 sees the release of the album Flugplan 2, which includes the single "Wir glauben an euch". The album Schattenmann follows in 2014. In 2017, he released the album Alles auf Start.
