Monta is a solo project by German singer-songwriter Tobias Kuhn. In 2003, following a hiatus from his band Miles, Kuhn launched Monta, focusing on singer-songwriter elements with pop influences. He released the debut EP Always Altamont in 2003. He released his first full-length album Where Circles Begin in 2004, which received positive reviews and was praised for its pop ballads. Kuhn released the EP Good Morning Stranger in 2006. In 2007, he founded his own record label Labelmate, releasing the subsequent album The Brilliant Masses. Monta's music was featured in the soundtrack of Wim Wenders' film Palermo Shooting with the song "My Impropriety". He released the album Pacific in 2024.
