Bukowski, a rock and metal band from Paris, France, was formed in 2007 by Mathieu Dottel and Niko Nottey following the dissolution of their previous groups. The band's name pays homage to American writer Charles Bukowski. Their debut album, Amazing Grace, was released in 2009 under Booster Productions and was listed in Rock Hard's top albums of 2009. In 2011, they released The Midnight Sons, which was acclaimed by the press and voted "best rock album of 2011" by Oui FM listeners. The band performed at notable festivals such as Sonisphere Festival 2011 and Hellfest 2012. Their subsequent albums include Hazardous Creatures (2013), On the Rocks (2015), and Strangers (2018). In 2022, they released their self-titled album Bukowski. The band has seen several lineup changes over the years. Notably, Julien Dottel, Mathieu's brother and the original bassist, passed away on October 16, 2021. In 2025, the band returned with new member Max MĂŒller, formerly of Full Throttle Baby, on Cold Lava.
