Sylvia Tella, born Silifatu Mornii Wehabie Tella on November 30, 1961 in Manchester, England, is a British lovers rock singer. Her career began as part of the backing band Black Beautiful Circus, supporting Boney M during their live concerts from 1977 to 1979. Tella's solo journey commenced with her debut album Spell in 1981. Her breakthrough came in the late 1980s with the hit single "Choice" featuring the Blow Monkeys, which reached number 22 on the UK charts. She also collaborated with Pop Will Eat Itself on their 1990 EP Very Metal Noise Pollution. In 1997, she toured internationally with Saint and Campbell. Her later works include Tella - Like It Is (2000).
