For over 20 years, Kwal has been exploring the French language through various forms of artistic creation. A tireless traveler, he draws inspiration from his many trips around the world, notably to Mali, Palestine, Algeria and Japan.
A musician and singer, Kwal began his career in 2002. He has released five albums in French, two in Bambara and one in classical Arabic. His albums Élégance (2013) and Révolte (2016) are particularly noteworthy. He has performed in over 400 concerts in France and internationally, including at Francofolies and Vieilles Charrues.
As a storyteller, Kwal has created several shows, including Chroniques de Là où j'habite (2010), Chroniques des Bouts du monde (2014), and La Fabuleuse Routine - et autres chroniques intérieures (2017). He has also published children's albums and co-written shows, including P.P. les petits cailloux, nominated for a Molière award in 2011.
