John Roger Voudouris, born on December 29, 1954, in Sacramento, California, is an American singer. While attending C.K. McClatchy High School, he formed the band Roger Voudouris' Loud as Hell Rockers and began performing regularly at the Elegant Barn Nightclub. The band gained some traction opening for acts like The Doobie Brothers, Stephen Stills, and John Mayall. Prior to his solo career, Voudouris collaborated with David Kahne in the duo Voudouris/Kahne. Voudouris signed with Warner Bros. Records as a solo artist and released his self-titled debut album Roger Voudouris in 1978. His breakthrough came with the 1979 album Radio Dream, which featured the hit single "Get Used to It". The song peaked at number 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached number 4 in Australia, earning him an appearance on The Merv Griffin Show. Voudouris also gained popularity in Japan and became a cult figure in Australia after appearing on the music television program Countdown in August 1979. Following Radio Dream, he released the albums A Guy Like Me (1980) and On the Heels of Love (1981), though these did not achieve the same level of success. After his solo career declined, Voudouris focused on writing music and lyrics for various projects, including the movie The Lonely Lady starring Pia Zadora, and a documentary on Elvis Presley's life. He passed away on August 3, 2003, after battling liver disease.
