Forsvarets stabsmusikkorps, also known as The Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces, is Norway's largest professional wind band, established in 1818. Initially formed as part of the 2nd Agersusiske Brigade, it was later renamed to Forsvarets stabsmusikkorps in 1953. The band has a rich history, with notable musicians such as Johannes Hanssen and Ole Olsen contributing to its legacy. In 2018, they celebrated their 200th anniversary by releasing an album titled It's Magic featuring singer Angelina Jordan. Based in Oslo, Forsvarets stabsmusikkorps performs a wide range of musical styles, including classical, contemporary, jazz, and pop. They participate in various parades, ceremonies, and concerts throughout Norway and abroad, collaborating with renowned conductors and organizations such as the Norwegian National Opera and the Oslo Chamber Music Festival. The band's recordings have received critical acclaim, solidifying their status as a prominent military music ensemble.
