The Verdi Quartett, a German string quartet, was founded in 1985 in Cologne. The ensemble received significant artistic influences from the Amadeus Quartet, the Shostakovich Quartet, and the Melos Quartet during their early training. They performed at major festivals such as the Schwetzinger Festspiele, Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele, the festival in Zermatt, the Mozart Festival in Lille, the Orlando Festival in Kerkrade, and the Oregon Bach Festival in Eugene, where they served as quartet-in-residence. The Verdi Quartett has released recordings predominantly on the Hänssler Verlag and cpo labels. Since 2003, they have held the artistic direction of the Viersaitig Festival in Füssen. The quartet consists of Susanne Rabenschlag on first violin, Matthias Ellinger on second violin, Karin Wolf on viola, and Zoltan Paulich on cello.
