Paul Douglas, professionally known as Rosy Parlane, is a New Zealand electronic and improv musician and composer. In 1992, he co-founded the avant-garde rock trio Thela in Auckland, releasing two albums before the group disbanded in 1996. Parlane subsequently moved to Melbourne, forming the duo Parmentier with Dion Workman and beginning his solo career. In 1998, he co-founded the Sigma Editions label, debuting with the album #1-4. After relocating to London in 2000, Parlane formed the ensemble Sakada with Mattin and Eddie Prévost. His solo discography includes the albums Iris (2004) and Jessamine (2006), the latter featuring collaborations with Tetuzi Akiyama and Michael Morley. In 2008, he collaborated with Fennesz on the album Black Sea. Parlane later returned to New Zealand, where he exhibited audio art at the Auckland War Memorial Museum and performed live film scores in 2009.
