Alyth Catriona McCormack, also known as Alyth, is a Scottish traditional, Celtic, and folk singer and songwriter born in 1970 on the Isle of Lewis. McCormack established a musical background studying classical singing and drama at the RSAMD in Glasgow. Her recording career featured appearances on over 16 albums as a collaborator before the release of the debut solo album An Iomall (2000) through Vertical Records. McCormack specialized in diverse genres including jazz, folk, and classical music. Her discography included the album Sugarcane (2002) with the group Shine and the solo project People Like Me (2009). She did worldwide performances with The Chieftains (2007–2008) and Moving Hearts (2008), as well as tours with the production On Eagles' Wings. McCormack became a member of ensembles including The Island Tapes and Shine.
