Pavel Stratan, born on November 11, 1970, in Nișcani, Soviet Union, was a Moldovan singer known for his folk, pop, and hip hop music. He began performing with his guitar at school events in 1977 and composed his first songs by 1983. Stratan's breakthrough came in 2002 with the release of his debut album Amintiri din copilărie, which sold 50,000 copies in Moldova. He gained further recognition through radio play on KissFM in Romania, where his song "Eu beu" became a hit. In 2004, he re-released his first album in Romania alongside his second CD, Amintiri din copilărie vol. 2, which together sold 150,000 copies. His third album, released in November 2005, sold 60,000 copies and earned him two gold records. During the recording of this album, he discovered his three-year-old daughter Cleopatra Stratan's singing talent, which led to her debut album La vârsta de trei ani in 2006.
