Marina Piccinini, born in 1968 in Italy, is an Italian-American flutist. She began playing the flute at the age of 10 while living in St. John's, Newfoundland, and was self-taught until she moved to Toronto to study with Jeanne Baxtresser at the University of Toronto. Piccinini won First Prize in the CBC Young Performers Competition. In New York City, she studied at the Juilliard School under Julius Baker and under Aurèle Nicolet in Switzerland, earning both a bachelor's and a master's degree. She received an Avery Fisher Career Grant from the Lincoln Center in 1991. She has performed with numerous orchestras, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, and Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. She has released albums like Flute Recital "Belle Epoque" (2000).
