Jean-Louis Beaumadier is a French flutist and piccolist born in France. Beaumadier studied at the Conservatoire de Marseille and the Conservatoire de Paris under Joseph Rampal and Jean-Pierre Rampal. They performed as a piccolist with Concerts Colonne and served as the principal piccolo player for the Orchestre national de France for twelve years. Beaumadier has performed under conductors including Sergiu Celibidache and Leonard Bernstein. Their discography include the recording La belle époque du piccolo, for which they received the Grand Prix international du disque de l'Académie Charles-Cros. Jean-Pierre Rampal referred to Beaumadier as the “Paganini du piccolo”.
