Jean Robitaille, born in 1943 in Montreal, Quebec, was a Canadian pianist and composer. He began his career as a writer for the television show Les Couche-tard and as a journalist at La Presse. In the 1970s, he gained prominence as a songwriter, penning hits such as "Je t'offrirai" for Ginette Reno in 1974 and "Pour que l'on s'aime" for Nicole Martin in 1975. Robitaille also composed the theme song "Je t'aime" for the 1976 Montreal Olympics. Throughout his career, he collaborated with numerous artists, including Julie Arel, Suzanne Stevens, and Emmanuëlle. Robitaille's notable works include the album Fais de beaux rêves (1979) and the soundtrack for the film Ma vie en cinémascope (2004). He was awarded the Prix Génie for Best Original Music in 2007.
