Every Day Life, later known as EDL, was a Christian rapcore group formed in 1992 in Southern California. The band initially signed with R.E.X. Records but moved to Alarma Records after the label went defunct. Their debut album Disgruntled, released in 1996, featured controversial content and production by Lanny Cordola. EDL's second album, American Standard, was produced by Mike Knott and released in 1997. It addressed social issues such as rape and exploitation of Native Americans. The band received criticism for their unconventional sound and lyrical content, which often avoided direct references to religious figures. Despite this, they were nominated for a GMA Dove Award for "Salt Circles" from American Standard. Their 2000 release Moment of Clarity marked a slight change in sound for the band, resulting into various offers from major labels including Roadrunner Records and a Universal imprint. In 2017, they reunited for shows.
